This is the story of a fairytale morning. One day you have an idea. You buy a waffle maker, bacon, and Atwater Vanilla Java Porter, all in support of this idea. You realize you might be a little crazy, and wonder if your idea will taste like garbage. Then one morning, you follow through with said idea, and thus the magical creation of Beer and Bacon Waffles comes to be.

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces of bacon
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1/2 cup of melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 bottle of Atwater Vanilla Java Porter

Step 1

Preheat waffle maker, coat with cooking spray or butter.

Step 2

Cook up the bacon until nice and crispy.

Step 3

Combine eggs, beer, butter, flour, and honey in a large mixing bowl.

Step 4

Pour one cup of waffle batter into waffle maker, sprinkle bacon crumbles into mixture, close waffle maker and cook for 4 minutes. Time may vary depending on your waffle maker.

Step 5

Remove waffle from maker, serve with syrup (you can make this from beer as well), butter and more bacon – or you can top with some melted peanut butter and nutella, which is my preferred waffle toppings.
