glasshouse-3

When most glass repair shops close, usually another auto repair shop opens, or some other business that needs a large garage door. This time though, someone put a brewery in, and I am glad that they did! Located just off Liberty and Maple (on the west side of Ann Arbor), you’re greeted by a jewelry store and a sign that tells you you’re in the right place.

A few large tables make up the patio and a large indoor seating rounds out the tap room. Why pick only a single beer when you can get a flight? The beers on tap are all pretty low alcohol, probably because as a new brewery they don’t quite have the time to let the alcohol content grow. But each beer still had a full bodied flavor.

Some notes on the current beer line up:

Public House: great flavor, lots of caramel flavor. Actually very enjoyable for a 3.0%
Payeur Porter: lightly smoky and malty, one of the top beers here
Summer House: great raisin flavor, super drinkable
Grain House: this one didn’t do much for me. Weak and a little bland. Very dark in color
Firehouse: good stout, smoky and really smooth finish.
Stone Thrower: the highest Abv on the menu. Light, and if I drank it with my eyes closed I’d swear it was a cloudy IPA (it’s not). Four different hops but the honey malt softens the flavor.
Beach Glass: I don’t normally enjoy lagers (I find them usually uninspired) but this was a good beer overall.

Overall, very good experience and really looking forward to them getting some different beers into the Ann Arbor craft beer scene!
