Yesterday, Audrey and I shared our 10 Favorite Beers of 2011. Today, we want to take you through our 10 Favorite Wines of the year. Â It was tough to pick just 10, but here they are (in no particular order):

Make sure you make it to Longview Winery in Cedar the next time you tour Leelanau.  They have great wines and the food is very good at Cedar Rustic Inn right next door.

I’d have to have Gills Pier Cab Franc Merlot on there. That is hands-down the best red from Michigan I have ever tasted!

We have a group of 5 couples that travel to Michigan Wineries every year for the past 5 years. Â We get a house and we plan a menu for the weekend. Â We go to the local flavor Friday night. On Saturday morning, we have bagels and fruit and a breakfast casserole. Each couple makes their sandwiches for the “trip” and we pack chips and fruit and pop and then we rent a limo bus and we are on our way. Â We go to 6 or 7 wineries and then we come back and we make a huge “Big Chill” meal and we sit around the table and we talk and laugh and play games, then Sunday, we eat left overs and make another meal Sunday night and head back on Monday. We have also departed on Sunday.
So for 3 nights 4 days, in a huge house, all the food for the weekend except Friday night, the limo bus was $300 per person. This does not include wine purchases. 🙂 My favorite is the Arcturos Reisling- It is the best and most pure I have tasted yet. Â
