It’s official! April is Michigan Wine Month! Not that we all need just one month to celebrate delicious Michigan Wine, but it’s nice to take time out to praise, indulge and spread the word about the wonderful wine pouring from the Great Lakes state.
Michigan is more than just a producer of the popular Riesling variety of wine, there are over 101 commercial wineries through out the state that produce more than 1.3 million gallons of all different varieties each year! Michigan ranks 13th in the nation in wine production, and 4th in grape production. The wine industry contributes more than $300 million annually to Michigan’s economy, and it’s still growing!
We’ve been blessed to be able to sample wine from many of the amazing wineries that are apart of the four major wine trails across the state. And we’ve decided to share some of our favorite spots this month in order to help celebrate and promote Michigan Wine Month. Every day we will put together a post featuring a different Michigan Winery, and hopefully encourage you all to get out there and visit them all!
We also want to suggest some ways you can get out there to participate in Michigan Wine Month – besides just drinking Michigan wine 😮

The Rattlesnake Club in Detroit will be hosting a huge wine tasting bash on April 15th. The tasting will feature over 25 Michigan wineries, and winemakers will be on hand to share new releases, and offer suggestions for wines that best suit your palette.
