Stephen Roginson is on a mission to open Detroit’s first Nano Brewery – Batch Brewing Company. We’re honored to share his story as he moves toward raising the funds necessary to make a Corktown brewery a reality. Stephen has the commitment, the passion, the drive to work hard, and amazing beer – he needs our help with the funds. If you have a few dollars to spare, please consider donating to help Batch Brewing open their doors.

A few weeks ago, we’re plugging along, fundraising for the dream – Batch Brewing Company – and something interesting happened.

I lost my day job.

It was eliminated, along with a couple of hundred other positions, as my company entered into a new phase of its existence. After almost 9 years of working with a great group of people on a great group of brands, that chapter of my life closed itself.

Up to that point, I had been standing on the edge of a cliff, peering over into the murky unknown of entrepreneurship, and the universe gave me a big shove. It also gave this campaign a lot more urgency.

The end of our www.BatchDetroit.com campaign for Batch Brewing Company draws near. Part of me? A little nervous – there’s a big gap between where we are and our goal. Another part of me? Relieved that this campaign is wrapping up. (It is an amazing amount of work)

Overall? Dumbfounded. Flabbergasted. Incredibly grateful. So far, over 150 people have contributed $14,500 to help launch Detroit’s first Nano-Brewery.

This campaign is going out with a bang! We’re throwing a party this Saturday, March 16th in the location that will soon be inhabited by Batch Brewing Company. Saturday will be an evening of Batch Brewing Company Beer pilot beers, as well as an evening of electronic music, featuring Stan Sommerson and Jake Sigal : Livio.

On tap?

  • Rye IPA
  • Black IPA
  • Stout + Lagavulin Oaked Stout
  • American Golden Ale

This celebration brings together many of the joys in this new chapter of my life: my beer, my music (guitarist in Stan Sommerson!) and the supporters of Batch Brewing Company.

I think you should join us.
