Last month, we asked you to help us find out what Michigan’s Favorite Stout was, and boy did you! We received thousands of votes, and it was a pretty tight race until the very end. We’re excited to reveal that the 2013 winner of Michigan’s Favorite Stout is….
Right Brain Brewery’s CEO Stout!
It’s a repeat win for Right Brain – this very same stout took the title in 2012, and with good reason. CEO is one of Michigan’s most balanced, flavorful stouts. The chocolate, espresso, and oatmeal flavors all come through in equal measure, making CEO a pleasure to drink. Unlike many other stouts, CEO isn’t overly heavy – it doesn’t weigh you down as you drink, making it easier to enjoy.
Last year, Right Brain shared their plan to bottle their beers and expand their distribution footprint. They’ve come through on that in a big way, and in recent months, we’ve been seeing Right Brain’s 22oz bottles on store shelves across Michigan. Keep your eye out next time you’re beer shopping, and be sure to grab a bottle of Michigan’s Favorite Stout!
Honorable mentions this year also go to Founders Breakfast Stout and KBS, Kuhnhenn’s Creme Brulee Java Stout, as well as New Holland Brewing’s Dragon’s Milk who rounded out our top 5 this year.
Congratulations Right Brain! Can’t wait to see if you make it a three-peat next year!
How lucky are we to live in a state with all of this great beer?!
