the world is in your glass

Some of you have been asking about our annual holiday party, and we wanted to let you know that we won’t be having it this year. It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster in our personal lives these last few months, with a cancer fight and saying goodbye to some people we loved very much, and we want to take some time to focus on our family and friends, and to heal.

What we can tell you is that the Michigan beer, wine, and spirits community has been here for us in ways we didn’t expect. Throughout these hard times, they’ve been supportive and encouraging, sending cards, calling to check in, and sending gifts to remind us we aren’t forgotten.  They reminded us of why we do what we do – these are good people. They support their communities, both economically and personally. They are small business owners with families and friends to take care of, and they work so hard to do it. They embody everything you want your community to be – family, hard work, compassion.

We couldn’t be more proud to support the Michigan beer, wine, and spirits industry, or more thankful to all of you for helping us.

We hope you’ll help us celebrate in a different way this year:

  1. Donate a new, unwrapped toy to Toys for Tots at your local Toys R Us or Babies R Us. We’ve collected for this organization at each of our holiday parties, and we hope you’ll help us continue this tradition, even if we aren’t all together.
  2. Get a Drink Michigan t-shirt and help spread the word about all the great Michigan beverages we have in this state.
  3. Pay a visit to a brewery, winery, or distillery to support and appreciate the hard work all of those people put in to bring you the very best beverages they can.

There’s some cool stuff we’ve got planned before the end of the year, including a brewery road trip that you’re going to help us plan, and our annual “Best of” list, so stay tuned, and please, continue to Drink Michigan!

We hope that you have the happiest of holiday seasons. We’ll still be here, supporting all of the great Michigan winemakers, brewers, cider makers, and distillers, and we hope you’ll continue to help us.
