There are some pretty nice advantages to living in or near Ann Arbor. There’s no shortage of good restaurants, good bars and great breweries. Another trend that is starting up (that I absolutely LOVE), is that some high end grocery stores now have in store taps. There’s something to be said about getting your guests a little tipsy as they shop around your store, but I think it benefits customers and profit margins alike!
Additionally, many of these venues have frequent and amazing tap takeovers due to their relationships with the distributors and brewers in the area. For example, Lucky’s has a Short’s tap takeover and game night scheduled for Aug 4th, 2016, and both Whole Foods locations regularly have weekly tap takeovers from breweries across the US.
There’s nothing quite like the look you get as you stroll up the meat counter with a pint in hand and browse the goods. A mix of jealousy, surprise, jealousy again, and thirst!
Here are the stores with taps in the Ann Arbor area, and links to their tap lists if available:
Whole Foods Cranbrook (8 Taps)
Whole Foods Washtenaw (Bleachers) (12 Taps)
Lucky’s Market (No published Tap list)
Plum Market Plymouth Rd
Plum Market Jackson Rd
I don’t do a ton of shopping outside the Ann Arbor area, so if you notice other stores with this amazing feature please let me know! Next time you’re dreading doing some grocery shopping, just remember that there might be a light and a beer at the end of the tunnel!
