Starting May 1st, visitors and locals will have a new way to travel between Traverse City breweries, bars, shops, and restaurants. The TC Pub Pedaler is a 14 passenger, pedal powered vehicle, that resembles a trolley It’s powered by the passengers, 12 of which get to cycle to each destination. The two extra get to ride without the exercise. A company driver controls the vehicle and is responsible for steering and stopping.
The TC Pub Pedaler will offer 2 hour tours, seven days a week this summer. The cost is $300 a tour, or $20 a person. Groups can customize their route from a list of approved destinations. Although alcohol is allowed on board such vehicles in other cities, for now the Pedaler remains an alcohol free ride due to city regulations. So you’ll just have to enjoy your libations inside the many great Traverse City bars, breweries and restaurants.
The TC Pub Pedaler is currently taking reservations for the 2013 season. You can find more information on their website. The Drink Michigan crew will absolutely be partaking on a tour this summer, and we will of course fill you in on the fun!
