What’s more fun than drinking beer? Baking with it! Last week I was cooking up a mean turkey chili, and I decided that I couldn’t have beer chili without beer cornbread. I chose Arbor Brewing Company’s Brasserie Blond to use in both the chili and cornbread.
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup yellow cornmeal
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1/2 cup beer - Arbor Brewing Company’s Brasserie Blond
- 1 egg
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl, beat the egg, add the milk and beer.
Step 2
In a second larger bowl, add the flour, baking powder, cornmeal, sugar, and a pinch of salt.
Step 3
Combine the bowls, and stir until mixed together. Grease a 9 x13 baking pan, and pour in the mixture. Bake for 20 – 22 minutes.
Step 4
Slice up and pair with some yummy turkey chili.
