Michigan red wine brandy sangria

It’s finally summer! I’m always looking for new refreshing summer cocktails to help cool me off. Sangria is a warm weather favorite, and I had a bottle of Leelanau Cellar’s Sweet Red wine chilling in the fridge, so I mixed together a fruity concoction and the results were fantastic!

Sangria

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle of Leelanau Cellar's Sweet Red Wine
  • 1/4 cup of Black Star Farms Spirit of Apple Brandy
  • 1/4 cup of Triple Sec
  • 2 tablespoons of orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons of lime juice
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 orange
  • 1 apple
  • 12 oz can of Vernors Ginger Ale

Step 1

Mix together the wine, brandy, triple sec and juice in a pitcher or other container. Cut the lemon and orange into thin slices, and chop the apple into small chunks. Add the fruit to the mixture, and chill for 1-2 hours. Add the ginger ale just before serving.

You can also use any red or white wine. If you choose a dry style wine, you will need to add in about 1/4 cup of sugar.
